4 best kept photography secrets revealed – Introduction

Revealed at last the 4 basic secrets to great photographs that they don’t require any advanced technical camera knowledge or confusing control functions.  Here are my “L words”  that will make you look like a Pro:

Each week I will disclose another concept and technique that you can start using right away to improve you photographs 100%.

Here’s what I will cover-

Light - the ability to actually see it and see what it is doing before you snap the shutter. How to position yourself and your subject to get the most pleasing shot or the most dramatic.  Again, it’s all in your head not in the controls.

Location – understand that where you are, and where you plan your photo as well as what is the foreground, middle and the background combine to create that great shot.  Yep, you guessed it, this is also all in your head. We will get you to Think- shoot- enjoy.

Look - what the photo conveys to the viewer- what the emotion or feeling is that you want to express- it is all in the final “look” of the shot or what the viewer sees when looking at your image.  Is it fun, whimsical, mysterious, dramatic, romantic, majestic, peaceful, disturbing, etc.  Creating the look using angles, perspective, perhaps a simple filter and using the light will evoke just that special effect you want.

Lens - ok so here’s one part that actually needs a piece of camera equipment.  Most cameras however, point and shoot and those with interchangeable lenses- the upscale models, all come with a zoom lens anywhere from 18-70mm or 55-200.  They cover the wide angle and the telephoto close ups.  How to select the correct lens setting- when and where- is the simplest effect you can use.  I’ll tell you how. If you can see you can master this secret.

So, stay tuned and look for part one coming next week, from the image maestro, Richard Restiano sr.  right here at Arista camera.
